Salt Strong’s Treasure Coast Chapter held their monthly meeting on Thursday. This was the first meeting in which we held a tournament. June’s tournament fish was snook. The rules of our tournament are simple, you get an entry for up to three fish between June 1^st and June 15^th. The club would randomly draw three names from all the entries and they would be awarded in order of drawing from first to third place.

Since Tania and I went to Belize we were hard pressed to get our entries in. I was off June 1^st so I ran to the spillway in hopes of catching my three entries; however, with the bait shop being out of shiners, I had to fish with artificial baits. I managed to get two snook in the hour and half I fished. Once we returned from Belize, we only had a day to get Tania her three entries and me to get my last entry. Unfortunately, the snook were lock jawed and Tania managed to be the only one to catch a snook.  That left Tania with one entry and me with two entries.

June must have been a tough month for snook as there were only a total of 13 entries into the tournament. We are delighted to announce the winners who displayed exceptional skill and dedication. Securing the first-place position and earning a well-deserved $100.00 Fish Strong gift certificate is Keith O’Toole. Following closely in second place, we have Tania Schulze, who will be receiving a $65.00 Fish Strong gift certificate. And last but certainly not least, Vern Schaejbe claimed third place, earning a $35.00 Fish Strong gift certificate. Congratulations to all the winners once again for their outstanding achievements!
