Fishing Adventures with Captain Ed and Lenny

On Friday morning, I met up with my buddy, Captain Ed. He had been traveling with his wife all summer, so he hadn’t had the opportunity to fish much over the past three months. Captain Ed was taking his buddy Lenny out offshore. He said with 5-10kt East wind and calm seas; they would make a run to the boils.

Captain Ed and Lenny left the dock at about 7:00 a.m., excited about the day ahead of them. They got to the boils around 7:30 a.m., and getting their lines wet didn’t take long.

Captain Ed and Lenny fished the boils until 11:30 a.m., at which point they headed back to the docks. They had a very successful trip to the boils. They brought home a 31-inch snook, two permit, a big black margate, and a large grunt. They also caught a nice redfish, a decent crevalle jack and lost a much larger permit.

All in all, Captain Ed and Lenny had a great day on the water. Tom and I were coming into the marina at the same time Captain Ed was, and he gave me a hard time and rubbed in their day because I chose to stay in the river and didn’t do as well.

Tania and I pray everyone who went out over the holiday weekend had a blessed and safe trip. May those going out the rest of the week have tight lines and good times.
