**Meeting Minutes** 

*Treasure Coast Local Chapter of Salt Strong*

**Proceedings:**

1. The meeting commenced promptly at 6:30 PM with an opening prayer led by Chapter President Mike Schulze.

2. Four guests were welcomed to the meeting, each receiving packs of lures with QR codes for a free 30-day trial of Salt Strong.

3. Armando, a fellow insider, was wished a happy birthday as he celebrated his birthday in March.

4. The floor was opened for fish stories. Initially, there were no takers, but Mike Schulze broke the ice by sharing his fishing trip experience with Tania to St. Augustine.

5. Following Mike’s lead, more members shared their fish stories.

6. Mike Schulze then outlined the rules for the casting competition. Participants had two minutes to tie on a jig and cast at a bucket about 20 yards away, each with a large and a small hula hoop. Points were allocated as follows:

   – 3 points for tying a loop knot

   – 1 point for any other knot

   – 5 points for getting into the bucket

   – 3 points for hitting the bucket

   – 2 points for getting it inside the smaller ring

   – 1 point for getting into the larger ring

7. The top three winners of the casting competition were announced:

   – Mike Guay won the overall competition with 8 points.

   – Second place was a tie with 6 points; however, Joe Alderton was the only member who made it into the bucket!

   – Third place was awarded to the participant with 5 points.

   – The winners picked their prizes.

8. Mike Hitsman was awarded the “dink” award for catching the smallest snook witnessed by the attendees.

9. The winners of the tournament were announced:

   – Keir Price won $50 for first place.

   – Vern Schaejbe won $35 for second place.

   – Mike Hitsman won $25 for third place.

10. The guest speaker for next month’s meeting was announced to be Salt Strong Fishing Coach Pat Ogletree. He will be presenting on “smart fishing spots.”

11. The meeting concluded with a total of 20 in attendance, including four first-time attendees and four guests! One of the guests attended last month and returned; hopefully, we will get him as a member soon.
