Tania and I traveled to Anna Maria Island on Thursday to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. We arrived early, hoping to check into our room when we arrived, as Tania had a conference call. Unfortunately, we could not check into our room early, so we parked at Holmes Beach which was secluded. I had to figure out what I would do while she was on her conference call, so I changed into my swim trunks, put on my fishing shirt, and decided to go wade fishing.
The water was crystal clear, and there was bait everywhere. I was throwing a slam shady 2.0, and it didn’t take long for me to get hit. Unfortunately, it was a puffer as it took my paddle off. I continued to throw the bait, and I continued to get bites. At one point, I had a trout hit the lure a few feet from me; it hit the lure so hard it came out of the water, and when it hit the water, another one nailed it, and it jumped out of the water and nearly hit me, it was an awesome site! I also had a sea turtle come up within 10 feet of me.
This was the first time I had wade fished in Florida. I liked it, and I think I will try it again. Even though I did not actually land a fish, I had a great time. Unfortunately, I did not take my phone, so I did not get any pictures or videos while I was in the water. But I have the memories etched in my mind! On Monday, I will post everything about our trip from today! Have a blessed weekend, my friends!
