Treasure Coast Local Chapter of Salt Strong Meeting Minutes – January 28, 2025 Location: Sailfish Brewing Company, Fort Pierce, FL Time: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM (Fellowship until 8:30 PM)

1. Opening Remarks

• Chapter President Mike Schulze called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
• Opened the meeting with a prayer and a blessing over all the good food we were eating.
• Welcomed all members and new attendees.
• Opening remarks included a brief overview of the meeting agenda.

2. Guest Speaker: Captain Bo Samual (Pullin Drags)

• Captain Bo Samual gave a 25-minute presentation on catching Sheepshead.
• He covered techniques for targeting Sheepshead both nearshore and in the river, emphasizing his preference for nearshore fishing.
• Provided tips on bait selection, structure fishing, and seasonal patterns.

3. Member Fishing Stories

• Several members shared recent fishing experiences, discussing successes and challenges.
• Stories included notable catches, fishing conditions, and memorable moments on the water.

4. Tournament Winners

• January tournament results were announced:
  • 1st Place: Matthew Burd
  • 2nd Place: Tania Schulze
  • 3rd Place: Mike Schulze
• Congratulations to all winners!
• The rules for next month’s tournament will remain the same as the previous tournament.

5. Salt Strong Alliance & Future Meetings

• Mike Schulze provided an update on the Salt Strong Alliance.
• Announced that Darlene Shuman will be the guest speaker at the April Chapter Meeting.

6. Florida Sportsman Conservation Association Youth Day

• Discussed the upcoming Florida Sportsman Conservation Association Youth Day event.
• Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future will be running the fishing station.
• Call for volunteers to assist with the event.

7. Meeting Conclusion & Fellowship

• The meeting was officially closed at 7:30 PM to allow time for members to socialize.
• Many members stayed until 8:30 PM, engaging in conversations, sharing knowledge, and building friendships.
