My buddy Gil took a few of his buddies, Bob and George, fishing on Saturday. It’s been a while since Gil was able to go fishing, so he was excited to just be on the water. Gil and I talked on Friday to discuss our game plans and he told me he planned on going to the power lines between Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach.
Gil captained the boat, and he did a great job. Gil called my about 8:00am to see how Tania and I were doing. While talking to Gil, he told me that he had already put three Black Drum all over 20 inches in the boat and by this time lost a couple of big ones.
By 9am Gil messaged me and told me they had five keepers in the boat, two 20 inches, two 24 inches, and one 28 inches. With about seven lost due to going around the pilings at the power lines.
At this point they went north to hunt for some sheepshead. They hit a few spots and didn’t have any luck. Around 11:00 am they decided to put up their fishing poles and head to Little Jim’s for a celebratory drink or two.
Gil and his friends had a great day on the water. I hope you enjoyed their story! Tania and I are praying for those who are going fishing later this week and into the weekend. May you be blessed with safety and a bountiful catch! Tight lines everyone.
