April 22nd marks Earth Day, an annual event celebrated worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental stewardship. Earth Day is a day dedicated to promoting awareness about the significance of conserving the planet and encouraging people to take measures to minimize their environmental footprint.
This year, the city of Port Saint Lucie invited Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future to participate in the Earth Day event at Oxbow Eco-center. Although Tania and I were unable to attend due to prior engagements, Reel Blessed volunteers Matt Gray and his wife Brandi took on the task of representing the organization. They even brought their son along to make it a family affair.
At the event, Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future set up a tent where we sold fishing shirts, had a display of fishing poles, tackle box with basic tackle and we even had live shrimp. Matt and Brandi were able to make numerous connections and spread the word about Reel Blessed’s mission to strengthen the family bonds through the sport of fishing as well as promote environmental stewardship.
Despite not being able to attend the event ourselves, Tania and I were proud to hear about the success of the event and the impact that Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future will continue to have in the community. We want to extend their sincerest thanks to Matt and Brandi for their support and for representing the organization in such a positive light.
Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future holds family fish camps at no cost to the families who attend. Tania and I with the help of Fishing’s Future have raised all the funds for every event and for all the equipment. We have raised these funds through grants, sponsorships and donations.
