A Day of Fishing and Conservation at FSCA Youth Day Event!

Saturday was a day to remember as Tania and I took on the responsibility of manning the fishing station at the Florida Sportsman Conservation Association (FSCA) Youth Day event. From the early morning set-up to the non-stop engagement with enthusiastic participants, our experience was nothing short of thrilling. As representatives of the Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future, we were proud to contribute to the success of this conservation-focused event.

Our day began at 7:30 a.m. when we left the house as we had over an hour drive to get to Everglades Youth Conservation Camp in Palm Beach. We arrived about 9:00 a.m., ensuring we were well-prepared for the event kick-off at 10:00 a.m. With our cane poles ready and spirits high, we eagerly anticipated the activities that lay ahead.

Before diving into the day’s main events, Tania and I took advantage of the opportunity to embark on an exhilarating airboat ride. This was our first airboat ride and was unlike anything we had ever experienced. We highly recommend taking one if you ever get the opportunity!

As the event commenced, our fishing station became a hub of activity. From 10 am to 3 pm, Tania and I were on our feet, guiding participants, sharing fishing techniques, and fostering a love for conservation. Despite the large turnout, we managed to handle most of the workload, with occasional assistance from a youth volunteer who joined us for an hour throughout the day.

Over 1000 people, both young and old, visited our fishing station, eager to learn and experience the joys of fishing. The overall event drew an impressive crowd of 1400 individuals, showcasing the widespread enthusiasm for conservation initiatives.

Being ambassadors for the Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future added an extra layer of pride to our experience. We were thrilled to represent our organization at an event that aligns with our shared passion for preserving the environment and fostering a love for fishing among the youth.

Our day at the FSCA Youth Day event was a success and a stepping stone for future collaborations. Tania and I are eager to continue working with the FSCA, contributing to their mission and furthering our shared conservation and education goals. The positive response from the participants fuels our determination to make a lasting impact on the community.

Our Saturday at the FSCA Youth Day event blended excitement, education, and a shared commitment to conservation. As we reflect on the experience, Tania and I are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event. As representatives of the Reel Blessed Chapter of Fishing’s Future, we look forward to more collaborative endeavors that contribute to the thriving world of fishing and conservation.

Most of the pictures were taken during the times when it was slow. When we were busy most of the day, I didn’t have time to get photos as I was too busy helping. But there were about 1000 people who went through the fishing stations and 1400 people who attended the event in total.
