Tania and I decided to sleep in on Saturday and have a relaxing day due to the marine forecast of 4-5ft seas and 10-15kt winds. As the afternoon wore on, the thought of having a pompano for dinner started to cross my mind. We decided to hit up Blue Heron Beach for some surf fishing despite the rough conditions and high winds. We knew it would be a challenging day, but we were up for the challenge.

We arrived at the beach around 3 pm and immediately got our lines in the water. We could see the waves crashing and the wind was whipping up sand all around us. It was definitely not the most favorable weather for fishing, but we were determined to make the most of it.

Within 30 minutes of setting up our lines, we had a bite of one of our rods. I ran over and quickly reeled it in, and we were both excited to see we had caught a Pompano. It was a decent size, and we knew it would make for a good dinner.

Unfortunately, the rest of the day was slow. The wind made it difficult to keep our lines in the water, and the waves were pushing our lines around. Despite the lack of action, we still enjoyed our time on the beach. The scenery was beautiful, and we were happy to be out enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

Overall, despite the rough conditions and high winds, it was still a great day spent with a good friend. We caught a Pompano, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and got some much-needed fresh air and sunshine. We left the beach feeling content and grateful for the opportunity to spend the day doing something we both love. Tania and I pray all who make it out this week have a blessed and safe trip.
